1st Workshop Segment
— Shoot For Story —

The power of your photography begins with the visual symbolism of the story you are telling.  “Shoot For Story” introduces the story-perception process and visual literacy using examples of classical and contemporary photos, events, portraits, pets, landscapes and car culture.

2nd Workshop Segment
— Edit For Perception —

The power of your photography begins with visual symbolism, but editing in Photoshop is the critical step that conveys your story to the viewer. This workshop focuses on editing for perception in the "story-perception" process.  How to use Photoshop editing to control the viewer’s perception, eye flow, and viewing experience is covered with a variety of examples from portraits to groups, events to cultural activities.

Workshop Facilitator: Kurt Lightfoot is principal photographer at Déjà Vu Photo Services specializing in narrative photography to capture the story of events, groups, individuals and cultural activities.

I love trees. I'm in awe at how the bio-info encoded in their little seeds is so smart and powerful that it builds strong, elaborate, beautiful, alive structures from the dust of the Earth. And I like how the dust of the Earth was created in stars — what Carl Sagan called "Star Stuff". And then this tree made of Star Stuff lifts its leaves to the Sun, our star.

Stephen Hawking wrote The Universe In A Nutshell, but it's easier for me to imagine the universe in a tree.
